Well it looks like bestbuy’s api program dubbed “Remix” is live and in action on BestBuy’s shot at “social shopping” - ConsumersPrice.com. BestBuy have partnered with Ribbit which seems to be providing the technology that “let shoppers record and listen to voice reviews of products”. Other than that it seems like this is a push for bestbuy to get its API-Partner program off the ground. They are way behind the leader in this space; Amazon - but having another major electronics retailer competing with amazon - maybe they will finally extend thier affilaite cookie duration past 24 hours (which IMHO is a disgrace - speak to anyone in affilaite mktg if you dont know what im talking about).

Bestbuy does seem to have the right idea here, building hooks into google maps, twitter, flickr and im sure more to come. The site is currently in beta - but you can access the splash page at consumersprice.com.

Looking forward to giving the site a whirl.
